U23 Preview: Albion Go In Search Of Back-to-back Wins

By Kieran Cleeves • 10 December 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s hosts Leicester City at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre this evening, kick-off 7pm, and Simon Rusk’s team will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League 2 Division 1.

The Seagulls came from behind on their last outing to beat Swansea City 3-2 in Wales, and victory for Albion tonight could lift them as high as second in the league table.

Rusk’s side have already played the Foxes in the league back in September, when Aaron Connolly’s stoppage-time strike rescued a point for Albion in a 2-2 draw.

Leicester head into the game on the back of a goalless draw against Manchester City on home soil, which followed a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on the road.

Albion sit three places ahead of tonight’s opponents in fifth position, taking 19 points from their opening 11 matches of the campaign.

Following tonight’s game, attention will then turn to the Sussex Senior Cup, when Albion travel to Hastings United in the third round of the competition tomorrow evening.

Albion supporters can follow a live text blog from tonight’s game on the south coast on the Match Centre, with a report, gallery and reaction to be uploaded after the full-time whistle.
