Brighton & Hove Albion will be ball number 8 in tonight’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round draw, live on BBC 2 from 7.30pm.
Mark Chapman will be joined by Ruud Gullit and Paul Ince live from Stamford Bridge, as the Seagulls will discover their opponents for the start of January 2019 in the historic competition.
Last season Chris Hughton’s men reached the last eight of the competition for the first time in 32 years, with their progress coming to an end away to Manchester United at Old Trafford in a 2-0 defeat.
That cup campaign began with a last minute 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium thanks to goals from Dale Stephens and Glenn Murray, before the latter notched again late on in the next round, as Albion beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium.
The side’s next opponents were Coventry City on home soil, and Albion were 3-1 winners over their Sky Bet League Two opponents, thanks to goals from Jurgen Locadia, Connor Goldson and Leonardo Ulloa, setting up the quarter-final tie with Jose Mourinho’s men in March.
Third round ties are due to be played across the weekend of Friday 4th to Monday 7th January 2019.
