Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s have been drawn against Sunderland, Derby County and Aston Villa in this season’s Premier League Cup.
The Seagulls have been placed in Group C, and Mikey Harris and Mark Beard’s team will play one fixture against each of their group stage opponents, either home or away.
Albion were unable to progress out of the group stage last season, despite winning two of their three matches, but the Seagulls will now get another chance to reach the knockout rounds.
The six groups winners will progress to the quarter-finals of the competition, alongside the two best runners-up, and the tournament winner will then be decided after a series of knockout matches.
Albion’s under-16s will also compete in the Premier League Cup this season, and their cup draw will be announced in due course.
