U23 Preview: Tottenham Hotspur V Albion

By Kieran Cleeves • 24 August 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s will look to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League 2 Division 1 season, when they come up against Tottenham Hotspur at the Lamex Stadium tonight, kick-off 7pm.

The Seagulls opened the campaign with a goalless draw against Liverpool on the south coast, before Aaron Connolly’s late strike rescued a point against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.

Tonight’s game was originally scheduled to take place at Tottenham’s new stadium, however due to issues with the critical safety systems, the Premier League 2 fixture was moved to Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium.

Spurs were beaten in their opening game of the season against West Ham United, as the Hammers claimed a 3-1 victory over the north London club, before Wayne Burnett’s team bounced back with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

After tonight’s meeting at the Lamex Stadium, the Seagulls welcome Manchester City to the Broadfield Stadium and then play their opening game of the Checkatrade Trophy against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Albion supporters can follow a live text blog from tonight’s game on the Match Centre, with a report being uploaded after the full-time whistle.
