Albion welcome Manchester City to the Broadfield Stadium on Friday night.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s will look to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League 2 Division 1 season, when Manchester City visit the Broadfield Stadium tonight, kick-off 7pm.

Simon Rusk’s team have recorded three consecutive draws against high-profile opposition, as they opened the campaign with a goalless draw against Liverpool, before back-to-back 1-1 draws with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Aaron Connolly’s late goal sealed a point at the Emirates Stadium, while a Viktor Gyokeres strike was cancelled out by Spurs winger Shayon Harris at the Lamex Stadium last Friday.

Tonight’s opponents occupy top spot in the Premier League 2 after taking seven points from their opening three matches of the season, however the Citizens have conceded the joint-most goals in the league.

Despite conceding ten goals, Paul Harsley’s side have fired the most goals in the league after three matches - with their 13 strikes coming against Arsenal, West Ham United and Liverpool.

City have been involved in two thrillers against the Gunners and Hammers, winning 6-5 and 6-4 in those respective matches, before sharing a 1-1 draw with the Reds at the Etihad Stadium.

Albion play their first game of the season at the Broadfield Stadium tonight, and Rusk’s team will then open their Checkatrade Trophy account against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday.

Supporters can follow a live text blog from the game via the Match Centre, with a report and gallery being uploaded after the game.
