Hemed Joins Qpr On Loan

By James Hilsum • 23 August 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Tomer Hemed has joined Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan deal.

Hemed will link up with the west London side on a contract that runs until 30th June, and could be in line for his debut against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Manager Chris Hughton said, “Tomer hasn’t been able to play the number of games he has done in recent seasons, and this move will give him a chance to play regularly.

“It’s a highly-competitive Championship division, and a level Tomer knows well; we will keep a close eye on his progress throughout the season.

“I would like to wish him all the very best for the remainder of the season.”

Hemed arrived at Albion from UD Almeria in July 2015, and scored 17 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions in his first season, as the Seagulls narrowly missed out promotion to the Premier League.

The striker featured regularly again in the 2016/17 promotion-winning campaign, making a further 41 appearances and scored 14 goals.

The Israel international found game time more limited last season, appearing 19 times and scoring in the home wins over West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United.
