Busy Week For Under-23s

By Kieran Cleeves • 06 August 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s kick off a busy week with the visit of Nottingham Forest to the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre this afternoon - the first of three matches in five days for Simon Rusk’s side.

Forest arrive on the south coast for a behind-closed-doors friendly against the Seagulls, and Rusk’s team will then look to retain the Sussex Community Shield against Haywards Heath Town at Culver Road on Tuesday evening.

Albion’s attention will then turn to Friday’s Premier League 2 Division 1 opener against Liverpool at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, as the Seagulls make their under-23 top-flight debut.

Rusk’s team have played four of their own pre-season fixtures over the last month - against SC Braga, Bognor Regis Town, Charlton Athletic and Fulham - while also featuring in a number of Albion’s first team matches.

Once this week’s busy schedule is complete, Albion will then have a ten-day break before their second league fixture of the campaign, against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Monday 20th August.
