  • The Seagulls are next in action against Reading on Saturday

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s were beaten 3-1 by Southampton at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday.

Enzo Robise (2) and Sean Brennan were on target for Southampton, while Bojan Radulovic scored a consolation goal for the Seagulls.

Radulovic could’ve given Albion the early on when he met Matt Everitt’s cross from the right-hand side, but saw his shot hit the post.

Stefan Ljubicic had a chance moments later when he headed Alex Cochrane’s free kick just wide of the target.

But Southampton struck first through Robise, who scored the first of his two strikes with 17 minutes on the clock, as Kayne Ramsay delivered an enticing ball into the box and Robise fired home at the near post.

Robise doubled Southampton’s lead in the 24th minute when he latched onto Harry Hamblin’s cross-field pass and fired past Albion goalkeeper Thomas McGill from a tight angle.

The game was effectively put out of sight just past the hour mark when Brennan scrambled in Afolabi’s deflected strike.

Radulovic ensured Albion had the last word with a quarter of an hour remaining in the contest, when he slotted the ball beyond Adam Parkes after being played through by Ljubicic.
