It was another mixed weekend for Brighton & Hove Albion’s loanees, with several players in EFL and non-league action again.

The stand-out individual contribution came in the Isthmian League from Albion under-23 defender Rian O’Sullivan, who scored once and got an assist in Worthing’s 2-2 draw with Staines at Nyewood Lane. The match also saw Albion under-23 forward Reece Meekums make his Rebels debut.

Richie Towell played 80 minutes for Rotherham United in their 1-0 defeat away at Bradford City, as former Seagull Romain Vincelot scored the only goal of the game with a first-half header. The Millers ended the match with ten men, after ex-Albion loanee Joe Mattock was sent off in stoppage time.

Kazenga LuaLua got more game time in the Championship as Queens Park Rangers lost 3-2 against Middlesbrough at the Riverside. The winger played the first 45 minutes before being replaced by Pawel Wszolek at the break.

Tyler Forbes came on as a 67th-minute substitute for League Two Accrington Stanley in their 2-1 away win at Chesterfield, replacing Jordan Thorniley. However, there were contrasting fortunes in the same division for under-23 defender Ben White, who featured for the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 defeat away at Morecambe.

Under-23 goalkeeper Bailey Vose was in FA Cup action for Eastbourne Borough, as the Sports beat Carshalton Atheltic 4-3 to progress to the third qualifying round of the competition.
