Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s come up against Aston Villa in the Premier League 2 Division 2 when they travel to Villa Park this evening, kick-off 7pm.

After taking seven points from their opening five games of the season, the Seagulls head to the West Midlands in search of their third victory of the campaign, following their 0-0 draw with Newcastle United last week.

The Seagulls can overtake the Villans, who currently occupy third position in the league, just two points ahead of Simon Rusk’s team.

Villa head into the game after losing 4-1 against Middlesbrough, but Kevin McDonald’s team had previously won back-to-back league fixtures, as they overcame Fulham and Southampton.

Tonight’s hosts recorded a 2-0 victory over the Seagulls at Villa Park towards the end of last season, while the sides shared a 1-1 draw at the Checkatrade.com Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Albion supporters can follow a live text blog from this evening’s game on the Match Centre, with a match report being published after the game.

ALBION squad: Sanchez (GK), Collings (GK), Mateju, Cox, Moore, Hall, Kerr, Hutchinson, Collar, Sanders, Mandroiu, Tilley, Ahannach, Ajiboye, Alzate, Bjordal.
