Football Business Awards
AITC picking up an award at last year's ceremony

Brighton & Hove Albion and Albion in the Community (AITC) have been nominated in two categories at the Football Business Awards 2017, which takes place at Tobacco Lock in London on Thursday 2nd November.
Albion are in the running to win Best Club Marketing Initiative – Non Premier League, while AITC are contenders to win the Best Football Community Scheme award.
The club was recognised for a number of successful marketing initiatives launched last season, which included the half-season and season-ticket campaigns and the unforgettable promotion parade.
It has also been another memorable year for AITC, who are included in the renamed Best Football Community Scheme category, after winning the Best Community Scheme non Premier League award in each of the last two years.
Meanwhile, Albion’s pie supplier, Piglet’s Pantry, are in the Best Business Serving Football – up to £2m turnover category, and stadium architects, KSS, could win in the Best Professional Service Business Serving Football award.
Albion chief executive Paul Barber said, “This is wonderful news, and is further recognition of our efforts in providing the best-possible experiences for our fans.
“We were helped by having such an incredible season on the pitch, but a lot of credit goes to our marketing team for capitalising on this success so effectively.
“It is also brilliant to see AITC nominated again for the wonderful work they do across Sussex, and I would like to offer my congratulations to all the staff at our official charity.”
Matt Dorn, AITC chief executive officer, added, “For Albion in the Community to be shortlisted for a third consecutive year is testament to the dedication displayed by our staff, who work tirelessly to make a difference to the community here in Brighton and Hove and the wider Sussex area every single day.
“Our success would not be possible without the hard work of our participants, many of who are overcoming significant barriers to achieve their aspirations.”
