Pundits were full of praise for Albion's victory on Friday night.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s impressive 3-0 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium on Friday night caught the eye of pundits and former players alike with many praising the club’s display.

While much of the media focus has been on the Hammers and Slaven Bilic, there has been credit for a performance labelled “outstanding” by manager Chris Hughton - and much of it for the Seagulls boss.

BBC presenter Gary Lineker was full of praise for Hughton on last night’s Match of the Day, saying “Chris Hughton’s done a really good job everywhere he’s been. It certainly was a terrific performance from Brighton.”

While BBC Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jeans - who covered the match at the London Stadium - added, “He doesn’t get the credit he deserves, he really doesn’t.

“This is a team that many people are underestimating. The way he [Hughton] has them set up and the way they are playing, means they are tough to play against and Friday night was just another good example of that.”

Former Liverpool central defender Jamie Carragher raved about Albion’s central defensive partnership of Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy during Sky’s live coverage on Friday Night Football.

He said of Dunk and Duffy’s no-nonsense approach, “We don't see enough of this in the Premier League now, we want a lot more from our centre-backs, that's the way the game is going, but there's nothing better for me in the role that I played to see defenders defend like this, and want to defend. Doing everything they can to stop that ball going into the back of the net.

"A lot of their success will be built on those two centre-backs. If they are going to stay in the league they need to keep them fit, and if they perform, they are going to give Brighton a fighting chance."

His fellow Sky pundit Gary Neville was equally impressed by Seagulls skipper Bruno. He said, “Wow, what a performance in terms of his positioning, his tactical awareness. Chris must be absolutely delighted with him.”

Meanwhile former Albion stars Alan Navarro and Adam El-Abd both praised their former club on social media.
