Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 striker Jordan Maguire-Drew scored his first goals of the season for Lincoln City last night, as his brace secured a 2-1 victory over Everton’s under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Maguire-Drew, who’s made ten appearances for the Imps in League Two so far this season, opened the scoring after just two minutes, as he fired home from close range at Sincil Bank.
But the 20-year-old’s second effort was something of real beauty, as he stepped up, 25 yards out, and curled the ball into the far corner to double his team’s lead with a wonderfully-executed free-kick.
Elsewhere, Rohan Ince was also in action for Bury, but the Shakers were beaten 2-1 against Oldham at Boundary Park, with the Albion midfielder being replaced after 79 minutes.
Oliver Norwood played an hour for Fulham at Villa Park on Saturday, but the Cottagers were unable to secure any points as Aston Villa ran out 2-1 winners in the Sky Bet Championship.
Ben White made his 14th league appearance of the season for Newport County on Saturday afternoon, however the sixth-placed League Two side could only draw 1-1 with Mansfield Town at Rodney Parade.
