Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s come up against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium this afternoon, kick-off 2pm, before the first-team’s clash with the Potters at the Amex on Monday night.

Simon Rusk’s team occupy seventh spot in the Premier League 2 Division 2, equal on points with Fulham in the final play-off berth, following their 1-0 victory over Southampton last time out.

Aaron Connolly scored the winning goal after coming off the bench against the Saints, which ended a run of seven league games without victory, despite a positive 5-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League Cup.

Stoke sit two places behind the Albion in ninth position, but have lost four of their previous five matches in the league, with their only victory in that time coming against West Bromwich Albion.

The Seagulls drew 1-1 against the Potters in Staffordshire last season, with Solly March equalising in the second half, before Albion won the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Amex in the penultimate league game of the season.

A young Albion side came back from two goals behind in the Sussex Senior Cup on Tuesday evening to win 3-2 against East Preston, but they were on the wrong side of the same scoreline previously in the Premier League Cup against Hull City.

Following the game against the Potters, Rusk’s side have a nine-day wait until their next fixture, when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Stadium.

Albion supporters can follow a live text commentary from the Bet 365 on the Match Centre, with a match report being published after the game.
