BRUNO: RESILIENCE IS PLEASING

22 November 2017

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Bruno praised the side’s character and belief after the Seagulls twice came from behind to draw with Stoke City on Monday evening at the Amex Stadium.

Goals from Pascal Gross and Jose Izquierdo twice drew Chris Hughton’s men back on level terms against the Potters and the defender highlighted that fact as being one of the most positive aspects from the game, which ended 2-2.

He said “Our resilience to come back from those types of setbacks is good and that’s the most important thing that we can take from Monday and going forward.

“It was a bit of a crazy game to be honest.

“At the start of the game it was tough to find space and maybe at times we rushed with the ball trying to find passes that weren’t there at times.

“But to come back twice is really tough in the Premier League and Stoke are a very good strong side.

“We’ll be happy to take a point but maybe in some aspects as well we need to improve.”

Next up for the Albion is a trip to Manchester United on Saturday and the full-back insisted that the side must be fully focused and maintain that belief if they’re to get a good result away from home at Old Trafford against a strong side.

“Saturday is a big game and we’re going there to try and do the right things and play our game with our strengths.

“We know they have quality and they have good pace in the side but it comes down to the fact that it’s 11 against 11 and we have to believe in ourselves and believe we can get something from the game.”
