Brighton & Hove Albion striker Sam Baldock says watching the club’s promotion DVD has helped spur him on in his recovery from injury.

After missing the start of the season, Baldock has scored twice of the under-23s on his way back from injury, and the striker admits that reliving last season’s achievements has given him added motivation.

We’re On Our Way tells the story of Albion’s unforgettable Premier League promotion campaign and features interviews with key members of the squad and club staff.

He said, “It has been a frustrating period for me as I just want to get out on the pitch, but there is no point sulking and luckily the lads have done a great job so far.

“When I watched the DVD back, it made me remember how gruelling it was to get out of the Championship.

“It was a two-year journey and the film really shows just how hard we fought to get promoted, and now we need to show the same determination and team spirit to make sure all that graft doesn’t go to waste.

“We're not here for the party, we are here to prove ourselves and our performances so far have shown that. I can’t wait to get my first taste of it.”

Albion’s production department spent the summer collating all the footage from the promotion campaign, and Baldock admitted how much he enjoyed revisiting arguably the best season in the club’s history.

“I was buzzing when I heard the media team were pulling a DVD together. It was such an intense and emotional season that sometimes you don’t get the chance to stop and take it in. Once we had done the interviews for it, I couldn’t wait to look back at an amazing season.

“The film brought back loads of brilliant memories and gave me a chance to enjoy it without the stresses of living it, because every game had such huge pressure on it and we were just focused on what we needed to do.

“I have to admit my favourite part is looking back at the train celebrations after we secured promotion, and it remains one of the best days of my life!”

We’re On Our Way is available in store and online, priced £12 for DVD and £15 for Blu-Ray. Meanwhile, Paul Hazlewood’s beautiful photographic account of the season, also titled We’re On Our Way, is available for £25.
