This season's Champions League semi-finalists are set to visit the Amex.

Brighton & Hove Albion are set to face Spanish giants Atletico Madrid at the Amex on Sunday 6th August, kick-off 4pm.

The two clubs have agreed terms and are working to finalise the contract for the fixture, which would be Albion's final warm-up match before they make their Premier League bow the following weekend.

Diego Simeone's side finished third in La Liga this season, and the ten-time Spanish champions won their most recent title in 2014, under the guidance of the former Argentinian international. He has also led them to two Champions League finals and one semi-final in the last four years.

Atletico would be the third Spanish visitors to the Amex. Villarreal were 3-1 winners in pre-season 2013, while Europa League winners Sevilla were beaten 1-0, courtesy of a Tomer Hemed penalty in a 2015 friendly.

Ticket prices and on sale dates for the fixture with Atletico Madrid will be announced as soon as the match contract has been finalised.
