Albion's manager presented the girls with their winners medals.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s FA Regional Talent Club Girls under-12s were congratulated by first team manager Chris Hughton after they defied the odds by winning their Horsham & District Football League Division - which otherwise is made up of boys teams.
The FA requested, as part of the criteria, that FA RTC teams at under-10 and under-12 level would have to play in local grass roots FA Charter Standard boy’s leagues, which meant the girls, started in Division D, as with all new clubs.
The Seagulls boss had photos taken with the girls and gave a speech at the club’s American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, as they received their winners medals, and Kevin Tharme, Regional Talent Club manager, was thankful for Hughton’s appearance.
He said, ““The league arranged to come down here and present them with the shield and medals. As a bonus, Chris Hughton happened to be around and he came down to speak to the girls.

“He spent some time with them and congratulated them on their achievement. Some of the girls were a little bit awestruck, but they had some pictures taken with him as well.

“It was fantastic for them to see him. Chris has been very supportive towards the whole Women and Girls programme, and he always takes an interest in what’s going on.
“Whenever he can, he’ll stop and talk to the girls when he sees them around the training ground, and that gives them great inspiration going forward.”
Albion’s Girls’ FA Regional Talent Club are holding open trials ahead of the new 2017/18 season at the club’s training ground, giving young footballers the opportunity to impress and play for the Seagulls.
In April 2016, the FA awarded Brighton and Hove Albion RTC tier 1 status, the highest level currently available in terms of the delivery of elite girls’ football development, and held by only 12 other clubs.
This season saw a total of four players being selected by England, with nine players attending both regional and national performance camps.
As well as these successes within the RTC programme, three players have been involved with the first-team squad, competing in the FAWSL Spring Series, who were in the Centre of Excellence in 2015/16. Two of these girls are now full Wales senior internationals
