Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood has joined Championship side Fulham on a season-long loan deal.

The Cottagers welcome Norwich City for the opening game of the season on Saturday 5th August, and Norwood will be available to make his debut at Craven Cottage.

The 26-year old, who joined Albion from Reading in August 2016, made 33 appearances during the club’s 2016/17 promotion-winning campaign, and claimed five assists in all competitions.

Norwood featured in both fixtures against Fulham last season, completing 90 minutes in Albion’s 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage in January.

The Northern Ireland midfielder will now join up with Slavisa Jokanovic’s team ahead of their 2017/18 Championship campaign, and Albion manager Chris Hughton believes it will provide Norwood with a great chance to play regular football.

He said, “Ollie made a key contribution towards last season’s success and this is a good move for all three parties involved. It gives Ollie the opportunity to play regular football.

“Fulham are getting an excellent midfield player, and we’ll monitor his progress throughout the season.”
