Anthony Knockaert

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton revealed that Anthony Knockaert’s ankle problem is not as bad as originally feared, speaking ahead of Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Crawley Town.

Knockaert came off injured in last week’s match against Fortuna Dusseldorf, and Hughton expects the Frenchman to return in three weeks.

He said, “We’re very hopeful that he’ll make the season.

"The good thing is he’s got the first two and a half weeks of training under his belt."

Albion’s only other injury concern heading into the weekend is Sam Baldock, who is recovering from a calf problem.

Meanwhile, Australian international goalkeeper Matty Ryan is line to make his Albion debut following his summer transfer from Valencia.

Albion fans can purchase tickets for Saturday’s game directly from the Crawley Town Box Office by calling 01293 410000.

These are priced at £10 for adults, over-65s and under-21s and £5 for under-16s. Tickets can also be purchased on the day at the Stadium.

Please note that no tickets for this fixture will be sold from the Albion Ticket Office.
