WOMEN TO FACE WIMBLEDON IN FA CUP

Albion have found out the opponents for their first competitive game of 2017.


Brighton & Hove Albion Women will travel to AFC Wimbledon in the SSE Women’s FA Cup third round, after the draw was made this morning.
 
The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday 5th February 2017, with a kick-off time and venue to be confirmed in due course.
 
It will be the first competitive match of 2017 for George Parris’s side, a week before the club’s opening game in the FA Women’s Super League Spring Series.

AFC Wimbledon currently sit second in the FA Women’s Premier League South East Division 1, and progressed to this stage of the competition after 4-1 and 3-0 victories over Norwich City and Plymouth Argyle in rounds one and two respectively.

It will be the second time an Albion team has faced AFC Wimbledon in a cup competition this season, following a 2-1 victory for Simon Rusk’s side in the Checkatrade Trophy in December last year.
