The midfielder will return back to Spain.

Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 midfielder Jack Harper has joined Malaga CF for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old former Scotland under-19 international was born in Malaga and joined Albion from Real Madrid in the summer of 2015 - but has been unable to break into the first-team squad.

Under-23 coach Simon Rusk said, "Jack's been a pleasure to work with, but despite his best efforts, he has struggled to break through into an extremely competitive first-team group.

"This move back to Spain gives him the opportunity to reignite his career. I would like to thank Jack for his hard work and to wish him well for the future on behalf of everyone at our club."

Harper played 25 times for Albion's under-23 side over the past two seasons, scoring four goals in the process.
