The new under-23 striker is now eager to make a quick impression.

New Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 striker Harry Cardwell hailed the impressive set-up at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, and expressed his desire to impress after signing from Reading.

The 20-year-old has joined the Seagulls on loan from Reading until the end of the season, and after arriving on south coast, Cardwell showed his approval towards the club’s state-of-the-art training ground.

He said, “It’s absolutely incredible, the facilities here are second to none. I’m really looking forward to spending time here and using these facilities.

“I’ve been to a lot of training grounds in the past, playing for under-18 and under-23 teams, and this place has got to be one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

After signing from the Royals on a short-term deal until the end of the season, Cardwell is keen to hit the ground running and showcase his ability to under-23 coach Simon Rusk.

“I’m keen to come here and catch the eye, make a good impression with my performances and impress the coaching staff here, and hopefully that would leave me in good stead for the future.
“I’m a centre forward, quite tall and strong. I like to work hard, I’m a real team player that puts a shift in, so hopefully I can bring other players into the game, link up play and score some goals.”
