Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s drew 1-1 with Fulham in the U18 Premier League South on Saturday.
Both teams started the match brightly and in the 5th minute the referee pointed to the spot when Mandroiu was pushed in the back by Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon.
Mandroiu then took full advantage by executing the penalty past the Fulham keeper, to give his side an early lead.
After conceding the penalty, Fulham slowly found their feet and managed to find an equaliser before half-time.
Nicolas Santos-Clase was picked out brilliantly by his teammate on the left-hand side, and he set up Isaac Pearce to finish, with a low driven cross.
Neither side had a spell of domination but as the match opened up both teams had chances to get the game's decisive third goal.
