Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Solly March highlighted the importance of this Saturday’s match against Watford in bouncing back from a tough run of form.

The Seagulls will be aiming to end a run of five games without a win against the Hornets, but March is also wary of a potential backlash from Saturday’s visitors following a heavy defeat to Huddersfield Town.

He said, “Next Saturday is a good chance to put it right against a good team in Watford.

“They had the defeat to Huddersfield so that will probably fire them up a bit more but it’s a game we’ll be looking to win.

“Troy Deeney will be missing as well and he’s a good player for them – he’s strong and holds it up well so it’s good for us, because he’s a big part of what they do.”

Albion remain 13th in the Premier League after last week’s draw with Burnley, and March believes that good run of results in the few games can make a big difference, with six clubs separated by only two points.

“The bottom of the table is tight and there’s so many teams close together – we just need to pick up a win and kick-start ourselves again, and I think we’ll do that sooner rather than later.

“You need to take your chances in this division and we’ve had a few games like that this season.

“If we could have turned a few of those draws into wins, it could be a very different picture, so we just need to keep on working hard.

“It’ll be big for the confidence, we’ll keep working hard and I’m sure it will arrive soon.”
