Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton added another clean sheet on his second appearance back at Wigan Athletic after returning from injury, making it four shutouts in six games in League One this season.

After featuring for the Latics four times in August, the 22-year-old returned to the DW Stadium and kept a clean sheet on his first appearance back, as the third-tier league leaders won 2-0 against Fleetwood Town.

The Albion shot-stopper then played another 90 minutes in Wigan’s visit to Kingsmeadow, again keeping a clean sheet as Paul Cook’s team secured an impressive 4-0 triumph over AFC Wimbledon.

Elsewhere, Ben White helped Newport County to a 2-1 victory at Cambridge United, as he made his 21st league appearance for the Exiles, in their stoppage-time win at the Abbey Stadium.

Richie Towell played 90 minutes in Rotherham United’s 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle, where Semi Ajayi’s 93rd-minute strike rescued a point for the Millers.

Rohan Ince was also in League One action over the weekend, but Bury were beaten 1-0 against Portsmouth at Fratton Park, however the midfielder completed the full 90 minutes.

Further down the league pyramid, Albion under-23s players Reece Meekums and Rian O’Sullivan both featured for Worthing on Saturday, and helped the Mackerels to an impressive 2-1 away win at Folkestone Invicta.
