Brighton & Hove Albion new signing Jose Izquierdo won't feature in tomorrow night's Carabao Cup tie with Barnet, but Anthony Knockaert is set to play.

New recruits Soufyan Ahannach and Ales Mateju are expected to be included in the squad.

The club are still awaiting international clearance, as manager Chris Hughton begins his planning for the match at the Amex tomorrow evening.

Izquierdo has been unable to train for ten days, while awaiting a work permit and visa, and as a result Hughton wants the club's new record signing to focus on training this week, ahead of the weekend trip to Watford.

Knockaert meanwhile is expected to make his first start of the season, after missing much of pre-season with an ankle injury, and 21-year-old pair Ahannach and Mateju are included in the matchday squad.

Hughton has also indicated he will make full use of the squad, which could mean game time for Niki Maenpaa, Gaetan Bong, Connor Goldson, Uwe Huenemeier, Liam Rosenior, Rohan Ince, Richie Towell and Jiri Skalak.

Steve Sidwell is expected to miss out, after a minor back injury ruled him out of Saturday's game at Leicester City, but he will be available for the weekend trip to Watford.
