Albion will await news on Izzy Brown.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton revealed that Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown has returned to his parent club for treatment.

The Blues winger came off injured in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, and Albion will await further news on the midfielder’s recovery.

He said, “We’ll probably find out today or tomorrow. He’s gone back to Chelsea for assessment; that’s a normal procedure for them and their loan players.

“We know where we are with Sam [Baldock] and Beram [Kayal]. Sam’s is a calf problem and he had light surgery. We anticipate that he’ll still be out for a period of time.”

Hughton spoke at the open training session today, and was delighted to welcome the club’s younger fans into the stadium.

“It’s wonderful for them, and we adapted the session a bit too. They are the ones that come week in week out and support the team, so it’s pleasing for us as staff to do it for them.”
