Brighton & Hove Albion will travel to AFC Bournemouth in the third round of the Carabao Cup, after the unseeded draw was made in Beijing this morning.
The Seagulls will meet Eddie Howe’s team in the next round, after the Cherries progressed with a 2-1 victory over Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Tuesday evening.
Chris Hughton’s team sealed their place in the third round with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Barnet at the Amex, with James Tilley scoring his first senior goal after coming off the bench.
The cup clash means Albion will visit the Vitality Stadium twice in the space of a week, as the teams also face off in the Premier League on Friday 15th September, live on Sky Sports.
Albion’s third-round tie against their Premier League rivals will take place in the week commencing 18th September, with ticket information to be released in due course.
