Brighton & Hove Albion captain Bruno urged his team-mates to show their strong togetherness after a difficult start to the season, following yesterday’s 2-0 defeat against Leicester City.

The result added to Albion’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City on the opening day of the season, and Bruno called on his team-mates to remain positive and learn from their mistakes.

He said, “We need to show it now [team spirit]. It’s so easy when things are going right, but now we’ve lost two games, we need to show our character.

“I think it was the mistake in the first minute that we paid for, so it was really hard for us to come back.

“I think we weren’t that far from them, we got in positions to score but it was about the quality and small details.”

The Spaniard highlighted the fine margins that Albion have encountered so far this season, and believes scoring the first goal can provide his team-mates with the confidence needed in games.

“It’s the Premier League and you have to score, especially when you are one-nil down. We have to learn from this game and I hope we come back strong.”

“Last week we played pretty well against Manchester City, this week we concede one poor goal and one from a set piece.

“The other teams are not creating chances; we just need to score the first goal to give us some confidence. We have to improve, learn and start playing some good football.”
