Brighton & Hove Albion captain Bruno is pleased with the squad’s progress during pre-season and cannot wait to face Atletico Madrid at the Amex on Sunday.
The Albion skipper commented on the way in which the new signings have slotted in seamlessly and is now looking forward to ending pre-season with an eye-catching fixture against the La Liga giants.
He said, “It’s been really good to be honest, and the new players have fitted into the group so easily. It was quite easy with them, because of their characters.
"One of the things the club do when they are going to sign a player, is check their personalities, and they have been unbelievable. Their characters, their personalities, are like all of us.
“We know it is going to be a really hard test [on Sunday] and we know their quality. We know the manager and it is going to be a really good test for them as well.”
The Spaniard spoke about the progress of Markus Suttner and Izzy Brown since they arrived, explaining the challenges that a foreign full-back has to cope with when moving to England.
“For me there were a few differences. What isn’t a foul in England may be a foul in Germany, France or Spain.
“You need to get used to it, and there’s a few things you need to change, but he’s a clever footballer and I think he will be very good for us.
“Izzy is a really good player, and he now needs to prove himself in the Premier League. That’s the next step for him and I think he is going to help us a lot. I’m just hoping he is going to have a great season.”
