Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 players Tom Dallison, Tyler Forbes and Ben White all played their part in giant killings for their respective loan clubs last night, as Accrington Stanley and Newport County progressed to the Carabao Cup second round.

Dallison and Forbes, who have joined Accrington on six-month loan deals, played 90 minutes for the League Two club, as they overcame Championship opponents Preston North End with a 3-2 victory at the Wham Stadium.

After being pegged back twice, Dallison rose highest inside the penalty area and headed towards goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time, and his team-mate got the vital touch to seal victory over the Lilywhites.

White joined League Two side Newport on a season-long loan deal last week, and made his debut for the club in last night’s trip to Southend United, where he also played in the Checkatrade Trophy last season.

The defender completed 90 minutes for the Exiles and contributed towards their first clean sheet of the season, as they overcame their League One opponents with an impressive 2-0 triumph at Roots Hall.

Jordan Maguire-Drew was also in first-round action last night, as he played 68 minutes for Lincoln City against Rotherham United, but the Imps were unable to progress to the next round, as they lost 2-1 at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

After their Carabao Cup involvement, the four players will be hoping to make their league debuts for their new clubs this Saturday, as Accrington and Newport travel to Yeovil Town and Crewe Alexandra respectively, while Lincoln welcome Morecambe to Sincil Bank.
