The Albion shot-stopper will be able to play for Southend this afternoon.
Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton has had his emergency loan at Southend United extended for a further seven-day period.
The 21-year-old made his Shrimpers debut in the 3-0 victory over Oldham Athletic on Saturday 1st April, and has played six times for Phil Brown's side to date.
The extension means Walton will also be eligible to play in their final league fixture of the season at home to Bury today.
In line with EFL rules, Southend were independently certified as having no professional goalkeepers fit to play. The League One club has since applied to extend Walton’s loan for a further period of seven days, which was accepted.
