The Albion duo scooped two prizes at tonight's ceremony.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielders Anthony Knockaert and Steve Sidwell were the club’s big winners at the EFL Awards 2017 tonight, after winning the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season and Mitre Goal of the Season awards respectively.

Knockaert fought off competition from Leeds United striker and the division’s top scorer, Chris Wood, and Dwight Gayle of Newcastle United to claim the prestigious award.

The livewire winger has been in sparkling form this season and is the league’s highest scoring midfielder with 13 goals to date.

Sidwell’s stunning long-range volley against Bristol City came top of a five-goal shortlist, which included goals from Adam Hammill [Barnsley], Darren Bent [Derby County], Lee Tomlin [Bristol City] and Michael Doyle [Portsmouth].

David Stockdale and Knockaert were both named in the Football Manager Team of the Season, comprising of players from all three leagues.

Elsewhere, Liam Rosenior was nominated in the PFA Player in the Community Award category, but Doncaster’s Andy Butler won the award.

Albion were also nominated in the Checkatrade Community Club of the Year and the Nickkicks Family Club of the Year awards, but missed out to Portsmouth and Millwall respectively.
