Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s were beaten 3-0 by West Ham United at Little Heath on Saturday.

Jahmal Hector-Ingram’s brace and Dan Kemp’s penalty earned the hosts back-to-back wins.

The Seagulls created their first chance in the opening few minutes of the game, as Danny Mandriou’s cross went past everyone in the box and just missed the far post.

Nikola Tavares came close to giving Albion the lead, but his close-range header went wide.

Anthony Scully had a chance to give West Ham the breakthrough after being played in on goal by Kemp, but his subsequent shot rebounded off the post and into the arms of George Hobbs.

Kemp should have given his team the lead just after the hour mark when he found himself in space, but saw his close-range shot go just wide of the post.

The Londoners broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, as Hector-Ingram made a well-timed run into the box and placed the ball into the bottom corner.

The game was effectively put out of Albion’s sight just four minutes later, when Hector-Ingram was fouled inside the box and Kemp sent Hobbs the wrong way with a penalty to make it 2-0.

Hector-Ingram added a third for West Ham and completed his personal brace, as he tapped home from Joe Powell’s cross to secure the hosts a 3-0 victory.
