PRE-MATCH BRIEF: ALBION V BARNSLEY

23 September 2016

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's game.

Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Barnsley to the Amex this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Matchday travel update

Brighton & Hove Albion supporters are advised that there will be several changes to the parking arrangements this Saturday, with no seasonal or cash parking available at the University of Sussex (Car Park C) for the home match with Barnsley.

Disabled supporters who normally park in Car Park C will be able to park in the usual location at the University of Sussex in Car Park 5. Community Buses will be in operation to transport fans to the lift at the stadium coach park.

Any supporters with seasonal parking packages or 1901 Club parking in Car Park C have been relocated to Car Park B (formerly known as the Bridge car park), for this match. For directions, please see our travel guide.

As a result of this change, there will be no cash parking available at Car Park B for this match, so fans are advised to use one of the club’s park & ride sites or to seek alternative methods of transport.

Meanwhile, Southern have advised the club that they will operate a normal matchday rail service on Saturday, although supporters are advised to check their website for the latest updates.

All three park & ride sites will also be in operation from midday.

There will be no shuttle service between Car Park B and the stadium.

The club will endeavour to publish any updates to matchday travel at seagulls.co.uk and via the club's Twitter feed.

Albion's official travel partner, Seagull Travel, collects from over 120 pick-up locations covering East and West Sussex and surrounding counties. Seats can be booked via www.eventtravel-hub.co.uk, or by calling 0845 9011 442*.

Tickets

Tickets are still available for this fixture from seagullstickets.com. 1901 Club members are reminded that tickets can be collected from the new 1901 Club members’ office, located opposite North stand reception.

Upon arrival

Dick’s Bar and the 7 Stars will be open from noon, the 1901 Club lounges from 12.30pm, and the concourses from 1.30pm. In the Fanzone, Shoreham Allstars will be performing on the bandstand from 1.30pm and the Hop Bar will be open for fans arriving early.

The early Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Leicester City will be on show in Dick’s Bar, the 7 Stars and 1901 Club lounges, as well as the concourses once open.

LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK

Snowdog by the Sea at the Amex

Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and American Express® have announced that they are jointly sponsoring a Snowdogs by the Sea sculpture.

Named ‘Rose’, in honour of the club’s original bulldog mascot and sporting the latest Albion kit, Snowdog Rose has been designed by Deven Bhurke, Hampshire based Graphic Designer and Artist, whose public art work involves abstracts, geometrical patterns and fun-loving characters.

Albion fans will be able to catch a glimpse of Snowdog Rose at the Amex Stadium on Saturday 24 September. Rose is being prominently placed for the duration of the art trail in front of the stadium store, just along from the giant image of her namesake Rose the bulldog, already on display at the stadium’s North Stand reception.

The Snowdogs by the Sea public art trail is being organised by local charity, Martlets Hospice, in conjunction with Wild in Art, one of the UK’s leading creative producers of public art events. The art trail lasts for nine weeks from 24th September - 27th November 2016. At the end of the event each of the 45 Snowdogs will be auctioned to raise funds for the hospice.

Stadium superstore

The Volt goalkeepers’ kit is now on sale in the stadium superstore, though with limited availability in some sizes. We also have a large range of Nike training kit and the new home, away and third shirts all available to purchase before the match. The stadium superstore opens at 9am and closes at 2.45pm, opening again after the match until 6pm.

Food & Drink

In the stadium concourses, the club’s catering partner Sodexo will be running a limited time offer for the first 30 minutes of opening, with an early bird offer of any food item and an alcoholic drink for just £8, or any food item and any soft drink for just £6. Piglets Pantry’s Lamb Hotpot Pie and the Vegetable Balti are our guest items for this game.

Post-match party

Two of Brighton’s best soul, funk and ska DJs return to the Amex for another post-match party this Saturday.

DJs Dante (Family Funktunes) and Large Al (Move On Up), will be spinning vinyl only in the East Stand Lower concourse, playing the very best in soul, funk, disco, ska and mod tunes.

The party starts 45 minutes after the final whistle; entry is free to all fans holding a ticket for the Barnsley match, with the disco scheduled to finish around 7.30pm.

Post-match drink offer

Within the East Stand we will be offering pints of beer for just £3.50 from 6pm until 7.30pm. This offer is available exclusively in the East Stand during the post-match disco and will not be available in any other area of the stadium.

The late Championship kick-off between Aston Villa and Newcastle, as well as the late Premier League game between Arsenal and Chelsea, will both be on view in the East Stand, North Stand and Dick’s Bar.
