DUFFY NOMINATED FOR PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

6 October 2016

Albion defender nominated for September's award.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy has been nominated for September’s Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month Award.

The centre-back helped the Seagulls to four consecutive clean sheets throughout September, as he formed a successful partnership alongside Lewis Dunk at the heart of Albion’s defence.

Albion bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to Brentford at the start of September with victories over Huddersfield Town, Burton Albion and Barnsley, before drawing 0-0 with Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

The 24-year-old is part of a four-man shortlist, which includes Bristol City's top goalscorer Tammy Abraham, Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy and Brentford striker Scott Hogan, who scored twice against Albion at the Amex.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday.
