The Albion pair have been recognised for October's performances.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton and central defender Lewis Dunk have been nominated for October’s Sky Bet Manager of the Month and Player of the Month Awards respectively.

Albion were unbeaten throughout October, winning four of their five matches, with Dunk scoring his first goal of the season in the impressive 5-0 victory over promotion rivals Norwich City.

Hughton helped steer the Seagulls into second spot in the Sky Bet Championship, as the team contributed to their unbeaten run which currently stands at ten matches.

Dunk has been a mainstay in the heart of Albion’s defence this season and assisted his team-mates in clean-sheet victories over the Canaries and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The pair were both involved in Albion’s first-ever triumph against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough at the start of the month, which came before a 2-2 draw with Preston North End at the Amex.

Dunk was suspended for Albion’s 1-0 victory against Wigan Athletic, but a long-range goal from Dale Stephens secured another three points for Hughton’s high-flying side.

The Albion boss faces competition from Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez, Leeds United’s Garry Monk, and Simon Grayson, who recently visited the Amex with the Lilywhites.

Dunk is up against the Championship’s top goalscorer, Dwight Gayle, Fulham midfielder Sone Aluko and Reading goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Hughton and Dunk will find out whether they have been victorious tomorrow morning.
