Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s ended the season on a winning note, after a 2-1 victory over Stoke City at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday.
Goals from George Cox and David Ajiboye gave the Seagulls all three points and cancelled out Jake Dunwoody’s opener for the Potters.
Albion’s first chance of the game came from Max Sanders, but his powerful strike hit the outside of the post.
Cox’s cross was cleared, but the loose ball fell Luis Garcia, who volleyed a shot just wide of the goal.
Sanders then tested the Stoke goalkeeper again with another powerful shot that was saved following a quick Albion counter attack.

Stoke City took the lead when Jake Dunwoody ended a swift counter-attack and slotted the ball into the bottom-right corner.
The Seagulls came close to an equaliser, when following some good interchange between Danny Mandriou and Reece Meekums, the former saw his shot saved at the near post.
Cox brought the Seagulls level in the 68th minute, with a free-kick that looped over the Stoke wall and into the far left corner.
Albion substitute, Ajiboye, had a chance to score the winner, only to see his attempt go wide.
But the striker did manage to score the second and decisive goal for Albion in stoppage time, with a powerful shot that nestled in the top left-hand to give the Seagulls all three points.
