After a season to forget in 2014/15, Chris Hughton took the summer to rebuild the Albion squad having steered the Seagulls to safety after taking the reins in January.
Forest and Albion were in charge of kicking off the league season in front of the Sky cameras at the Amex in a Friday night match, with both sides hopeful of securing a top-six finish come May.
Both teams struck the woodwork in the first half, with Henri Lansbury clipping the outside of the post for the visitors, while Beram Kayal crashed a low drive against the base of the post for Albion.
