Albion's women's programme has been given the highest rating by the FA.
Brighton & Hove Albion are delighted to confirm they have been awarded tier 1 status in the FA’s new Regional Talent Club (RTC) programme.
The RTCs have replaced the former centre of excellence model and are designed to offer enhanced coaching and support to elite female players through the FA Girl’s England Talent Pathway.
The decision is a real coup for the club, the equivalent to the boys’ academy receiving category one status in the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and comes after a gruelling six-month application process.
Albion chief executive, Paul Barber said, “This is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted to be recognised by the FA for providing the best coaching and support to aspiring, young female footballers.
“We want both our men’s and women’s teams to compete at the highest-possible level and achieving tier 1 status will enable us to achieve this in the long-term.”
