Albion under-23s to compete in EFL Trophy
Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s will be one of 16 academy clubs to compete in a revamped EFL Trophy.
As a category one club, Albion have been invited to take part in the tournament alongside the 48 clubs from Leagues One and Two.

Under-23s coach Simon Rusk said, “I’m very pleased to be entering this competition, as it gives our lads the chance to test themselves against League One and League Two opposition.
“It can only improve their overall development as they look to break into the first team.”
Rusk’s side will compete in one of the 12 groups of four teams, with the competition split on a north/south basis all the way to the showpiece final at Wembley.
Each club will play each other once, with Albion set to have just one home game in the group stages.
All the knock-out stages will consist of one-off games, bar the semi-finals which will be two-legged affairs.
