Chris Hughton looks ahead to the Lazio game
Chris Hughton is relishing Sunday’s friendly with Lazio, and says he is focused on how his Brighton & Hove Albion side perform against the Italians.
The game falls six days before Albion’s curtain raiser at Derby County, and the Seagulls boss is hoping that a run-out against the Serie A club will help his players sharpen their skills for the start of the league campaign.

He told seagulls.co.uk, “It is very much about our own performance and how well we are able to play on the day.
“You want to be challenging yourself in that last game as you know the stakes get higher in the next match, and possibly the intensity in the next game will be greater.
“We don’t know much about Lazio but we know the level of the team. They are a very good team and a very experienced team, having played at a very high level for as long as they have done.
“It is not as if we know them and can prepare ourselves like we would do for a league game, so it is a little bit of the unknown, but we have learned as much as we can about them.”
Hughton confirmed that Connor Goldson and Richie Towell will miss Sunday’s game along with long-term injured players Solly March and Uwe Huenemeir. Steve Sidwell is also a slight doubt for the clash with Lazio with a minor issue.
