Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday.
Donyell Malen’s brace and a goal from Joe Willock secured the North London club all three points.

The Gunners broke the deadlock after just eight minutes when Willock fired the ball home after a sweeping move.

It was 2-0 when Malen produced a smart finish with the inside of his foot to put the ball beyond the outstretched Bailey Vose.

Malen scored his second and Arsenal’s third just before half-time with a superb acrobatic effort from Willock’s cross which effectively put the game out of sight.

Ian Buckman’s side still created a number of opportunities during the game, with Danny Mandroiu’s early effort going over the bar.

An Archie Davies header at the back post then went wide shortly afterwards, before he was played through in a one-on-one, but fired his shot wide.

Mandroiu also had another effort saved as the Gunners claimed a comfortable victory.

ALBION: Vose; Moore, Barker, O’Sullivan, Cochrane; Mandroiu, Davies, Sanders; Ajiboye (Garcia 68), Hutchinson (Connolly 68), Meekums (Rolph 78).
