Albion's midfielder enjoys playing alongside Beram Kayal.
Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Dale Stephens ranks this season among the finest in his career and hailed his flourishing midfield partnership with Beram Kayal.
Stephens highlighted that both he and Kayal have benefitted from sharing the midfield responsibilities and have adapted to a new system.
He said, “I think we have definitely played our best season together. Last season we were probably just getting to know each other.”
“We are both similar players and we share responsibilities either defensively or going forward.”
“I think the change in system this season has suited both of our games, it would have been nice to score a few more goals, but if we can get the job done and do what we set out to this year, then I will be happy.”

Stephens says he and his teammates are a close-knit squad and this has been reflected in the team’s performances.
“The mood in the camp is good, it has been for a long time. We have got a close group of players and fortunately it has transformed itself onto the pitch, and it has been there for everyone to see.”
“At the beginning of the season we decided to put in extra effort and really go for it this year. And collectively as a team, I think we have all over performed.”
Although Albion's season has been a successful one so far compared to the last campaign, the midfielder acknowledged that nothing has been achieved just yet.
“We are taking nothing for granted, there are four games to go and the pressure is still on.”
“We can see from the fixtures that have been played over the last few weeks that no one is going to do you any favours. It is about we do and it is up to us to get the job done.”
“We have a lot of games coming up and the sole focus is purely on those, but if we get the job done then we will be all be celebrating together.”
