FERRET'S CHARLTON TIPS

22 April 2016

Match: Charlton v Albion

Prices:  Charlton 11/2, Albion 1/2, Draw 6/5 with SkyBet

Last-time out: Albion made it nine without reply against London sides when they beat QPR 4-0 at the Amex on Tuesday night. At the same time, Charlton's fate was confirmed as they were unable to break down Bolton and suffered relegation to League One.

Form: Albion extended their unbeaten run to 11 games and are in superb form going into the final throes of the season.  Charlton have not won in their last four matches, but did beat Middlesbrough last month, highlighting that they can still pose a threat.

Result: The 1/2 offered for Albion is too short to invest in the outright price, although victory is anticipated.   Following relegation however, Charlton will be playing for pride and could make this tough, particularly in the first 45 minutes. Coupled with Albion's recent slow starts it does suggest taking a cautious approach to first-half betting.

A scoreline of 0-0 at the break is 2/1 and this should be taken.  On the half-time/full-time Charlton/Brighton is 25/1 and is also overpriced for the probability. On the more positive note, take Albion to be leading 2-1 at half-time (20/1) for a trio of first-half punting before relaxing in the second period!

Goalscorer tips:Connor Goldson (33/1) continues to have an eye for the net and is worth supporting at these long odds.  No goalscorer is an insurance punt at 11/1.
