11 September 2015

Brighton & Hove Albion would like to extend a warm welcome to Hull City Football Club for this Saturday’s game at the American Express Community Stadium.

This fixture is dedicated to the memory of all 11 victims of last month’s Shoreham Airshow tragedy and the club are asking all supporters to arrive early and be in their seats by 2.30pm as we join together to pay tribute to Albion groundsman Matt Grimstone, Seagulls fan Jacob Schilt and all those that were lost in the disaster last month.
The Tributes

This week the bandstand in the Fan Zone will be a place where fans can congregate and write messages of condolence on the two giant shirts which will form part of the on-pitch tributes prior to kick-off. The shirts will be on the bandstand opposite the club Superstore from 12pm until 2pm.

At the request of the Grimstone and Schilt families there will be a minute's applause immediately ahead of kick-off, but prior to that the club will be paying tribute to Matt and Jacob as follows.

Prior to the minute’s applause we will also have tributes from soprano Donna-Marie Hughes, who will lead the tribute with the song ‘Abide With Me’, followed by ‘Sussex by The Sea’ as the teams emerge on to the field.

Full details of the day’s tributes can be found here.

Travel Update

Please be aware that for the upcoming fixtures against Hull City and Cardiff City, Car Park C (formerly known as Sussex University Car Park) will be CLOSED.

All fans who usually park on this site have been allocated space in Car Park B (formerly known as Bridge Car Park) for these games.

As with previous fixtures this season the club’s park & ride facility P&R 2 (formerly University of Brighton P&R), has ongoing building work at the Cockcroft site, therefore we advise fans to arrive earlier than usual.

All other P&R car parks are operating a normal service.

Details of the location of our park & ride sites can be found in our travel guide.

Southern Rail will be running a usual matchday service for the match.

Albion’s official travel partner Seagull Travel collects from over 120 pick-up locations covering East and West Sussex and surrounding counties. Seats can be booked via or by calling 0845 9011 442.
Opening Times and Arrival

This week’s early arrival drink offer is a pint of Foster’s for £3.50, available between 12pm and 12.30pm in Dick’s Bar.

The 12.30pm Championship game is Queens Park Rangers versus Nottingham Forest, with the 12.45pm Premier League kick-off between Everton and Chelsea also being shown in Dick’s Bar and on the concourses once opened.

Please be aware most stadium TVs will be switched off at 2.30pm ahead of the on-pitch tributes taking place to encourage fans to take to their seats early.

Fans are advised that the Seven Stars Sports Bar will not be open for general admission against Hull City and will also be closed for the Rotherham United game on Tuesday as well.

Fan Zone

The bandstand will host the two tribute shirts that will form part of the on-pitch tributes prior to kick-off. We advise fans to arrive early should they wish to write messages of condolence as the shirts will be taken pitchside at 2pm ready for the on-pitch tributes from 2.30pm.

The Hop Bar will have an offer on bottles of Heineken and Bulmers Red at just £3.50 between 12.30pm until 1pm. Last orders from the Hop Bar in the Fan Zone will be 2.30pm and fans should note that all drinks must be consumed before entering the stadium.

The Amex Superstore will have special Worthing United Tribute scarves and programmes on sale. Scarves are available for £10 each and programmes at £3, with the proceeds donated to a fund for the victims of the Shoreham Airshow tragedy.
Food & Drink Offering

The guest Piglet’s Pantry offering is a large traditional sausage roll with mustard, while for those who prefer a plain sausage roll these will also be available in various kiosks in the East Lower, North and South stands. The game’s guest ale is Cascadian from Westgate Brewery.

The 'street' food kiosks will be housed in the internal concourses at the Amex serving a variety of different options. This week the following offering will be available in each concourse:

North Stand: Great Brits
West Stand Upper: Sub ‘N’ Roll
West Stand Lower & South Home: Chicago Town Pizza
East Stand Lower: Loaded Foot Long Hot Dogs
East Stand Upper: Piglet’s Pantry

This week’s drink offer is a pint of Foster’s for £3.50, available between 11.30am and midday in Dick’s Bar, 12.30pm and 1pm in the lounges and from 1.30pm until 2pm in the concourses.

After the Albion game fans are welcome to stay and watch extended highlights of the action against Hull from just after 5pm in all the concourses, lounges and Dick’s Bar, while the late kick-off between Manchester United and Liverpool will be screened in Dick’s Bar (open until 8pm) and in the North concourse (open until 8pm).
