Brighton & Hove Albion would like to extend a warm welcome to Hull City Football Club for this Saturday’s game at the American Express Community Stadium.
This fixture is dedicated to the memory of all 11 victims of last month’s Shoreham Airshow tragedy and the club are asking all supporters to arrive early and be in their seats by 2.30pm as we join together to pay tribute to Albion groundsman Matt Grimstone, Seagulls fan Jacob Schilt and all those that were lost in the disaster last month.
This week the bandstand in the Fan Zone will be a place where fans can congregate and write messages of condolence on the two giant shirts which will form part of the on-pitch tributes prior to kick-off. The shirts will be on the bandstand opposite the club Superstore from 12pm until 2pm.
At the request of the Grimstone and Schilt families there will be a minute's applause immediately ahead of kick-off, but prior to that the club will be paying tribute to Matt and Jacob as follows.
Prior to the minute’s applause we will also have tributes from soprano Donna-Marie Hughes, who will lead the tribute with the song ‘Abide With Me’, followed by ‘Sussex by The Sea’ as the teams emerge on to the field.
Full details of the day’s tributes can be found here.
Please be aware that for the upcoming fixtures against Hull City and Cardiff City, Car Park C (formerly known as Sussex University Car Park) will be CLOSED.
All fans who usually park on this site have been allocated space in Car Park B (formerly known as Bridge Car Park) for these games.
As with previous fixtures this season the club’s park & ride facility P&R 2 (formerly University of Brighton P&R), has ongoing building work at the Cockcroft site, therefore we advise fans to arrive earlier than usual.
All other P&R car parks are operating a normal service.
Details of the location of our park & ride sites can be found in our travel guide.
Southern Rail will be running a usual matchday service for the match.
Albion’s official travel partner Seagull Travel collects from over 120 pick-up locations covering East and West Sussex and surrounding counties. Seats can be booked via eventtravel-hub.co.uk or by calling 0845 9011 442.
