Brighton & Hove Albion captain Gordon Greer has been named in the Scotland squad for their two upcoming fixtures in June.
The Scots take on 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar in a friendly match at Hibernian’s Easter Road Stadium on Friday 5th June, kick-off 7.45pm, before facing the Republic of Ireland in a European Championship qualifier at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 13th June, kick-off 5pm.
Greer’s last appearance for Gordon Strachan’s side came in March, when he played the second 45 minutes of the 6-1 European Qualifier victory over Gibraltar at Hampden Park.
The match against Qatar will contest the Qatar Airways Cup and will be used as preparation for the side’s crucial qualifying match against the Irish just eight days’ later.
The Tartan Army go into the crucial match with Martin O’Neill’s side sitting third in Group D with 10 points from five games; just one place and two points above their opponents and just a point behind group leaders Poland.
