ALBION INTERNATIONALS

24 March 2015

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Gordon Greer, Aaron Hughes, Christian Walton, Jake Forster-Caskey, Beram Kayal, Glen Rea and Shamir Fenelon are all on international duty this week, and here is a complete guide to where they will be representing their countries.

Gordon Greer – Scotland
Albion’s captain has once again been named in Gordon Strachan’s squad as the Tartan Army prepare for one friendly and one Euro 2016 qualifying match. Scotland host Northern Ireland in a friendly on Wednesday 25th March, kick-off7.45pm, before hosting Group D’s bottom side Gibraltar on Sunday 29th, kick-off 5pm, as Strachan’s men look to continue their push for a first summer tournament since 1998.

Aaron Hughes –Northern Ireland
The Seagulls centre-back has continued to command a starting berth for his nation despite being limited to just 17 appearances for Albion this season. The defender could potentially come head-to-head with fellow Albion centre-half Greer when Northern Ireland travel to Hampden Park in the aforementioned fixture. Hughes and Ireland then host Finland on Sunday 29th, kick-off 5pm, where they will look to reignite their qualification campaign after suffering a first loss last time out away at group leaders Romania.

Beram Kayal - Israel
Kayal’s energetic and impressive displays for the Seagulls have seen the midfielder recalled to the Israel set-up after almost a year’s absence. Israel currently sit top of Group B with three wins from three and have back-to-back home fixtures, starting against Wales on Saturday 28th, kick-off 5pm, before taking on 2014 World Cup quarter-finalists Belgium on Tuesday 31st, kick-off 7.45pm.
