Brighton & Hove Albion chief executive Paul Barber has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Football League - along with Wolves counterpart Jez Moxey.
Barber was encouraged to stand for election by club chairman Tony Bloom and the club's board - and he and Moxey were successful in being selected by fellow Championship clubs, ahead of seven other candidates, making it the largest and most competitive Football League election for many years.
Barber is now one of three Championship club representatives, alongside Moxey and long-standing current board member Middlesborough's Keith Lamb - with two representatives from League 1 and one from League 2.
With Football League chairman, Greg Clarke, chief executive, Shaun Harvey, and two independent directors (Debbie Jevans and Richard Bowker CBE) completing the 10 person board, they will oversee the running of the Football League on behalf of all 92 member clubs - with Barber's experience from his time with the Football Association and working in professional football both in the Premier League and overseas, sure to have been seen as a key asset to the board.

Barber said, “I’m grateful to Championship clubs for electing me to serve on the board. It is a genuine privilege and I look forward to making a contribution to The Football League along with my fellow directors.”
Moxey added, “It is a privilege and honour to have been voted onto the Football League board by colleagues from Championship clubs. I look forward to working with the chairman, CEO and the other directors of the Football League. I will do what I can to provide positive support, help and guidance on the various issues and challenges that the League faces."
Andy Ambler will represent League 1 clubs alongside Scunthorpe United's James Rodwell. League 2 clubs will continue to be represented on the Board by Oxford United Director, Ian Lenagan.
